3 podiums for the team at Bayford…..

June 25, 2012 in News

Sunday the 24th June was the 4th round of the Summer Championship at Bayford Meadows.

With four drivers in the awning, Liam Carter and Patrick Kibble in Honda Clubman and Luke Whitehead and Charlie Oliver in Honda Cadet we were confident of some great racing and possible podiums.

After timed qualifying and all the heats, Patrick was tostart the final in 3rd with Liam in 5th. We had no idea what a nail biting race was to ensue. There were four drivers in contention for the podium after only 2 laps, with Liam and Patrick right in amongst the battle. First place swapped around between the drivers so many times it was incredible, Liam took the lead before the last lap but was overtaken down the main straight, he eventually took first place back before the flag with Patrick always in contention for the win and running second most laps, coming home in third. Some great driving boys, you should be proud!

In the Honda Cadets, Luke and Charlie qualified in 2nd and 4th respectively. On the ill favoured outside for the first turn, both boys were squeezed out and dropped back to mid pack, but they both dug deep and Luke managed to finish 3rd with Charlie coming back to 6th. In the second heat an over zealous start from a fellow racer saw Luke and the driver behind get loaded up and pushed straight on at the first corner, he ended up in last place at turn 2 and then fought his way back to 4th. Charlie also drove a great race and was challenging for 5th when he again was pushed into the tyre wall on the last lap.

A great final again ensued and Luke ran 2nd for most of the race finally being pipped on the last lap with Charlie showing some real pace all day he finally finished 7th after starting in 10th. Both boys showed front running pace all day.

Thank you to all the mechanics, fathers and mothers for helping each other when required…..

Great team work!

Roll on F6 at Ellough…………

New Driver…New Kart…..and a podium!

June 25, 2012 in News

Last weekend was the 3rd round of the Summer Championship at Buckmore park.

This was another weekend of highs and lows  for the team, the four drivers in the awning all performed admirably, with Patrick Kibble and Liam Carter being front runners all day in Clubman and Luke Whitehead and Jake Gillett in the top 6 all day.

Liam took the lead of the final in Honda Clubman but his throttle cable snapped on the 12th out of 15 laps putting him out of the race for the second month in succession. Patrick kept it together and drove himself on to the second step of the podium whilst battling for the outright win, alsosetting the fastest lap. Congratulations on your first trophy with the team.

Jake Gillett and Luke Whitehead were front runners all day in a strong field of 17 drivers, the boys showed some fantastic pace as the day progressed and we were once again, more than worthy of podiums but lady luck had other ideas………some of the best driving we have witnessed from the pair.

Thank you to all the mechanics and to Ben at BRK for all your help this weekend.

Come rain or shine boys do it in style….

Last weekend was the 3rd round of the summer championship at Lydd.

With 2 clubman drivers, Liam Carter and Patrick Kibble and 2 cadet drivers, Luke Whitehead and Khali Atkins racing we were hoping for a good day.

Patrick on a new chassis at a new circuit put himself on pole with Liam Carter second in qualifying, great driving Patrick.

Liam had a clean sweep in all the heats, the first 3 were dry the final very wet, which he also won after a great battle.

In Cadets, Luke poled it in qualifying and his frst 2 heats were in the dry and although some very close racing, he had the races under full control, heat 3 and the final were wet and Luke again won both in style, heat 3 by over 12 seconds.

Patricks engine was flooded in the final with the standing water and Khali drove extremely well all day run mid pack finally finishing  the day in 6th.

Some terrific driving by all the boys and a clean sweep for Liam and Luke once again!

Podium overload at Whilton Mill F6

June 11, 2012 in News

The first weekend of June saw the team travel up to Whilton Mill for the 3rd round of the F6 championship.

Some great racing was to be seen with three Honda classes competing in the same race.

Liam Carter won the final overall with Luke Whitehead coming in a close third and Jake Gillett 4th.

Worthy drives from Jack Clegg(95kg Cadet) and some very good pace from Khali Atkins(103kg cadet) who started every heat from the back as a novice and finished as high as 6th!

95kg class winner – Jack Clegg

103kg Honda Clubman Winner – Liam Carter

103Kg Honda Cadet 2nd – Luke Whitehead

103Kg Honda Cadet Novice – Khali Atkins

Also racing in the team was our mechanic, Liam Ward, who, although winning heat 1 in Subaru, came last in the 2nd and 3rd heats. A good solid drive in the final saw him finish 2nd on the podium, a great turn around drive!

Congratulations to all the drivers………..

Three trophies at a very warm Bayford…..

June 11, 2012 in News

The weekend of the 26th and 27th of May saw the third round of the summer championship at Bayford Meadows.

With a very busy awning both days, the team and members were rushed off their feet at time. Practice on Saturday let us tweak set ups and polish up the drivers lines and it started to pay early in the day with Luke Whitehead beating the lap record in Honda Cadets….an unclassified time but proved we were on the money for race day.

Liam Carter led every heat to the flag in the Clubman class including the final, proving experience and skill cannot be brought! With a great drive from Oliver Appleby finishing 2nd, he had been a contender for a podium all weekend.

Our newest team member Patrick Kibble had a fantastic final and finished in 4th place.

In the Cadets, Luke Whitehead took the win in Heat 1, 2nd in Heat 2 and a 3rd place podium in the final after leading for 90% of the race.

Great work from our mechanics Jason, Ollie and Liam…and great driving boys…

Two second places at Lydd – May 2012

June 11, 2012 in News

Sunday the 13th of May saw the 2nd round of the Lydd Non-MSA Summer Championship.

Liam Carter and Luke Whitehead both took pole in qualifying in the Clubman and Cadets respectively with some of the closest times to date in both classes.

Liam had his work cut out all day finishing second in all the heats and although he led the final up to the last lap, he was pipped to the line at the last corner.

The same could be said for Luke in Cadets, he won all the heats and he too finished second after leading the race up to the last corner.

Well done to all the team and drivers, some great racing was experienced once again………
